Types of glass fibers

Types of fiberglass :

According to the type and composition of materials that used in fiberglasses , dividing them into different types and for Introducing the different types , we use a letter such as (C, S, E, etc.) which refers to a prominent feature in that type.
In this designation, E refers to Electrical and this type is more than 39% of the fiberglasses that used in composites . These types of fibers show good electrical properties and have the lowest price among fiberglasses series.
The strength of this type of fiber is about 20% compared to the type and more.
But it costs about four times as much as E fibers. S-fibers were originally made for use in aircraft and missile fabrication according to special military standards, and were later marketed for relatively common uses with relatively similar strength properties, known as 2-S fibers. The name of S fibers in Europe is R and sometimes referred to as 2-S fibers is the same as R.
The letter C refers to Chemical (high chemical durability)
Type D fibers have the lowest dielectric constant, for example in the construction of shields.
